Appending PDFs on the fly

Just wondering if anyone can lend some advice on the best way to append multiple PDFs using coldfusion. I have found a lot of expensive thrd party standalone apps but none that i can use to automate this type of concatonation, i really need to be able to do it on the fly if possible.
