Unable to install flash player successfully

I've tried to install the latest version of Flash Player (11) without success.  Sometimes it tells me that I don't have administrator rights on my PC (I do) and other times it tells me to close Windows Explorer( which isn't open).  I've tried a fresh install which seemed to work but I still couldn't use the player.  I've also checked to make sure it is enabled in IE.  As I'm at a loss as to what to do next could someone help me out please?

Right click the installer.
Choose "Run as Administrator"
I had to do this myself after a Windows update this morning. For some reason I no longer have privileges to install Flash Player and Shockwave updates unless I do that.
