John T Smith Nov 10, 2013 8:58 AM (in response to chattphotos)>some trouble with CS6 on Mavericks
Many previous discussions of mavericks problems... with "some" solutions... I don't use Mac so don't know if any of the previous discussions/solutions will help you, but reading might point to a fix
Go to http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere and, in the area just under Ask a Question, type in
mavericks
You may now read all the previous discussions on this subject... be sure to click the See More Results at the bottom of the initial, short list if the initial list does not answer your question

3. Re: No visible workspace in CS6
chattphotos Nov 10, 2013 12:46 PM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)I've already had him do that and I also did the same after deleting the preferences, changed to Edit and Edit 5.5 (reset all the workspaces too) no change.
Just to note, I've been able to narrow it down to the profile on his user account as when we created a new account and launched Premiere, it loads the workspaces and all the defaults without any problems.
What files do I need to delete from his profile or copy from the other account to revive the workspaces?

chattphotos Nov 10, 2013 12:50 PM (in response to John T Smith)John, we both searched the internet for how to describe the problem and were able to identify it accordingly. I just have never seen this happen and need advice on what to do next and what to do in order to fix it. That is why I have posted here...
Mavericks is just the OS and it's a brand-new installation on his computer. Premiere is the only problem app, it is some sort of workspace issue, because all of the other CS6 Production Premium apps are working without any problems.
I also use Mavericks and CS6, no issues to be found for me.

Steven L. Gotz Nov 10, 2013 2:24 PM (in response to chattphotos)What happens if a project created in the new profile is opened into the program using the old profile? Does that show workspaces? And if it does, can you save the workspace?

chattphotos Nov 12, 2013 1:35 PM (in response to Steven L. Gotz)I'll ask him about that, but what else can be tried?
I ask again:
What files do I need to delete from his profile or copy from the other account to revive the workspaces?

Vinay Dwivedi Nov 12, 2013 1:47 PM (in response to chattphotos)Hi chattphotos,
Please go to user library>application support>Adobe>Premiere pro and rename the 6.0 to old6.0
Go to user library>Preferences>Adobe>Premiere pro and rename 6.0 to old6.0
Then create a new project, go to windows menu>workspace>deselect the option import workspace from the project and then reset the workspace and check.
For going in user library you can click on go menu, select go to folders option and in the box type ~/library and click go.
Regards,
Vinay

Scott_Newman Nov 19, 2013 11:48 PM (in response to Vinay Dwivedi)I am having the same problem, but mine was caused by an interesting situation.
I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 on a macbook pro retina display running OS 10.8.1
I work with my macbook closed - in clam shell mode - with a Thunderbolt display plugged in via a thunderpolt connection. I have been running Premiere perfectly like this for over a year... until now.
Basically what happened is I unplugged from my Thunderbolt display with Premiere still open. Ive done this before with no problems. Normally when I open up my macbook, the screen takes a moment to rescale itself and Premiere's workspace is still there and I drag the corners to resize it for my retina screen.
On this occasion, when I opened my macbook, the Premiere menus are all still visible at the top of the screen, but the workspace is just gone. All I see is my desktop like in chattphotos's screenshot at the top of this page.
I have tried resetting preferences and I have treid resetting workspaces. What is interesting is that if I got to the Window menu and launch another tool palette that wasnt open in my project - the that tool palette pops up and is visible. But if I try and launch a timeline or any other palette that was previously visible I get nothing. Also - selecting one of these palettes through the Window menu and then attempting to close them (using Command W) causes Premiere to crash.
Right.... so Im really stuck here. Short of a re-install I dont know what to do.
Vinay Dwivedi - I tried going through your solution with renaming files, but that folder structure doesnt seem to exist on my system.

Scott_Newman Nov 20, 2013 4:14 AM (in response to Scott_Newman)I HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM !!!
I went into:
MacintoshHD > Users > (my user name) > Documents > Adobe > Premier Pro
and I trashed everything in there. Then when I restared Premiere everything is back to normal and it seems Premiere has to rebuild and rewrite all the data for the project...
...but if you are experienceing the above problem, then its worth it! This seems to be the solution.
Cost me hours of frustration!
