    Photoshop Photography Program

Just saw this on G+ https://plus.google.com/114210357725226688774/posts/YjXEZXKMU2f. Very promising news for LR (only) users. Hopefully the current price stays the same through subsequent years.

The significant change here is that you don't need to already have purchased a version of CS3+. So users without Photoshop can now also get this deal (where they couldn't before).

I wonder if that's because they're not getting as many takers of the offer as they had expected. I'm using Photoshop CS6, and really have no intentions of taking the offer.

Ah sorry....missed that. In which case yes that is good news....I know of some Elements and CS2 users who'll be interested.

I think this price point is right on the hairy edge. I also think Adobe is still experimenting with various aspects of the CC offering (including price, product mix, etc.).

Personally, I came to Adobe originally for LR as a committed photo hobbyist and, over time, I've come to realize that there are several aspects of Photoshop that I'd like to leverage in my work (specifically, at this point, HDR and panorama processing). However, I could never justify the start-up cost. The original Photoshop Photography Program was somewhat appealing, except that it required that I already have PS. I've never been a fan of subscription-based models for software, but this latest offer has reduced my barrier to entry enough that I'm willing to experiment/try this. Hopefully, the price will remain competitive year over year and the various other idiosyncrasies of the subscrtipion-based model end up being workable/sound. We'll see...
