Installing Flash Player update

When attempting to install the latest version of flash player the bar permitting run/save the download appears/disappears so fast that selection cannot be made and the downoad has to be aborted. I have had the same problem with Adober Reader but there is an alternative way to download the application available in the support menu and I have successfully downloaded the latest version. Is there an alternative way of downloading Flash Player (as with Reader) or if not is there a way of avoiding the problem I experience in downloading it?
