You've got "adware".
It didn't come from Adobe from Flash Player, but it uses Flash Player to display the ads.
If you use IE, you're pretty much out of luck except to fiond the offedning software and remove it.
If you use Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera, you can install AdBlock entensions and disable ALL unwanted advertisements.

Thanks for the feedback, Mike.
Thing is, I never got them before I installed the latest "update".
I actually know better than screw w/ "updates" but I figured Adobe is pretty reliable.
Wrong!
These continuous pop-ups are a real PITA...& I can't stop them.
I will try to find AdBlock but I shouldn't have to constantly "fix" other people's idea of what I should have.
I use to be a geek myself, but now w/ everything dumbed-down I use these machines as I would a toaster: "...if it works don't screw w/ it..."!
Sorry for the rant, but I am well & truly sick of it all.
Thanks for the info.

Mike -
Installed AdBlock Edge & it seems to have done the trick!
Talk about "easy do"!!
One thing tho, every now & then where an ad was going to appear there is a "ghost" box - don't know any other way to describe it - but that is easily DEL.
In any event, thank you so very much.

No way to do anything about that. I found with time I learned to just ingore the gray space, because I don't have "Viagra" and "Dish soap" ads staring me in the face.
