# Problem filling in an object with colour!

Hi, if anyone can help me with this problem i would be most grateful, it is probably something simple but i cant seem to get around it.

I have created one image by joining together a few vector shapes (i.e. using the line tool and bending certain lines to create a desired pattern). Now that i have done this i wanted to fill the image with a colour but i am unable to do so. I have grouped the lines together to create one image but it fails to fill in the whole object but only fills certain parts on the outside and not the inside of the image :-/

It is hard to put into words but hopefully somebody knows what i am talking about,

Dan,
It would be a lot easier to understand if you uploaded the image somewhere
so we could see it. Preferably the FWs png

Thats using the old nooble peter, here is the URL:

You can download it as a PNG to have a look at it. Thanks for the help.

Dan,

You need to close the path. Grouping all the segments won't do this.
The easiest way is to zoom in tight and use the subselect tool to move
the end points close together. Some of the them will snap together and
join. On the ones that refuse, get them close, select both points with
the subselect tool and join. (Ctrl+Shift+J)Modify > Combine Paths > Join.

You will then have closed path that can be filled with a color.

Yes, Alex has beat me to it Dan. I had a quick go at recreating it for you
as a complete path. Your original is underneath, just click the 'eye' icon
in the layers panel to see it again, and move mine out the way.
