Why is this? And why should I not be able to scan an "exe" file before installing it? I would appreciate any help you could offer. Thank you in advance.

The password requested is your system admin password. Flash Player requires no password to download:
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.

I appreciate your reply. I don't understand what you mean exactly. Here is what Bitdefender says:
"The current file is a password-protected object. Please enter the password below so that Bitdefender can scan it. If you do not know the password, you can choose to skip this file."
The file name is: install_flashplayer11x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe
I have never experienced this before unless the uploader has set a password for that particular file. I have downloaded the file you suggested and I thank you for it. If you can shed any additional light on this issue however, I would certainly appreciate it.

THAT is odd... I've never seen ANY download from this site that's password protected. Even the paid software tirals require no password to download. They DO require the system admin password to actually install, but not to download, or launch.
