Is there suppose to be 3 CEF Helper processes running at same time?

    mapyron@att.net Community Member

Adobe programs take up lots of space and use of memory and cpu.  Is this some type of download mistake or not? I have 3 "Adobe CEF Helper.exe *32" running at the same time...I was going to delete 2, but thought that maybe there were suppose to be 3 running.  Please need answer from someone who knows....Do not want to CALL or CHAT with Adobe about this--a very big ordeal...

Same problem here -- wondering when this will be fixed. A lot of resources are being taken by these processes.

I haven't been on a forum set up like this before--not a forum person, HOWEVER, I NEED some technical answers now. I thought there was supposed to be some sort of "forum moderator" (?)..but ?  I asked the question on Nove 21, and see you replied on Nov 25..

Anyway, I see that no-one from adobe has responded, so that puzzles me.  I am a Photoshop USER, and don't have a clue about engineering design...and not really had problems until now, either.

I guess, first of all,do I need to take PS5 off this computer...or would that help??

NEVER ran out of memory before ( I have a 1T size hard drive, so I thought that it just went to the hard drive if physical memory ran out--automatically. I had only 2 pictures open, doing a very simple selection--and it wouldn't even go to the refine mask !!  ??? Big note--out of memory..?

I have never known how to clear out the temporary cache since I have used PS..is that the problem ???  I have looked and looked, so if anyone knows how to do just that, probably would help.

Also, I have a little program, system explorer that put an icon at the botom right and when programs load, it shows CPU frequency and usage and Memory Usage and swap usage (that part means nothing to me),,..anyway PSCC was  loading and FLASH loaded taking 25% cpu, just happened to notice.  It seems to take forever for PSCC to load.. I am thinking--what does Flash have to do with Phtotoshop...???

If you can find anyplace that will answer these type questions, please send me a message.

              Thanks..Margaret

PS. I did unsync the cloud--not any type of work going on here--only trying to figure out set up..

Do you know what these CEF Helpers are realy for??  I know the Creative Suite is very huge, but I am just using Photoshop and Lightroom...I think maybe all these extras are for the whole suite, maybe??

So far, the little I have actually been able to work in PS, seems to be working OK. I think all my 3rd party actions were transferred from CS5...Lightroom? First time for me to use that--everybody talks about how great, but that library thing and comments about "losing pictures", makes me want to put off diving into that.

If you know of a better place to find out the little technical problems and why it  PS is hogging memory, when I have 11 G physical, please let me know. I feel like it just isn't set up correctly for my computer....

similar problems - also have 1T harddrive and have got an "out of RAM" message.  Checked my Photoshop preferences and they seem OK (allocating the required amount).  Biggest problem is that every time I start up get multiple windows with message ... another instance of distiller is busy - this instance cannot continue and I have to close out each window.  It also sometimes seems to interfere with Outlook starting up and I have to kill the process and reopen Outlook.

Though a patch has been released for this, I'm still experiencing this exact phenomena with a clean install of Creative Cloud 1.6.0.393 running on new 64-bit Win 7 Pro machine.  Has anyone been able to resolve this issue?

I had to do a complete re-install of W-7...I have 11 G memory and 1 T hard drive.  I am being very stingy about putting new programs on--trying to run bare essentials.  I have Firefox as browser and PS 2014 plus Lightroom--basically that is it. Before my "crash", I could NOT run FF and PS at the same time--loads of trouble. Run out of ram, etc. I don't know if Adobe was just experimenting with the people who joined early or what. When I downloaded them after re-install, I have had virtually no trouble at all--except for one weird thing. Of course--kind of expensive to get a large computer dedicated to Adobe and their products..but a lot of garbage had built up over 3 years too..Those 3 processes are still running that I first mentioned, plus 2 more. A lot of people cannot use their computer just for PS--I know that--but looks like to get good results in the programs, that is what is needed ???

So are we never going to get a straightforward answer to this?

Adobe just isn't interested in this, it seems -_-
