"General Installation Error" installing Flash Player for Mac

Even after a complete un-install (using Adobe un-installer) and restart, it only installs to 6% to 50%. OS is up to date. It failed on MacBook Pro and Mac Mini, both under 3 years old.

Since a couple of months, Adobe Flash Player updates do not work anymore on my Mac OS 10.8.5 (while uninstalling and freshly installing the update does). I wonder why Adobe doesn't get this right.

Uh... that would mostly be because Adobe DIDN'T delete your mach_kernel file...
