If you leave DW8 installed, CS3 will migrate all your sites and settings
automatically. You can continue to keep DW8 and CS3 side by side without
any conflict. However, you cannot run both at the same time.

as with installing any new software. This ought to help you somewhat:

9. Re: Installing DW CS3
Newsgroup_User Apr 16, 2007 6:46 PM (in response to Newsgroup_User)There's actually some new functionality related to site import/export in DW
CS3. In Dreamweaver 8 and Dreamweaver CS3, you can shift-click or
control-click to select multiple sites for exporting/importing. In
Dreamweaver 8, if you try to import or export several sites in a batch, you
encounter a series of pop-up messages. The pop-up message asks you if you
want to save your login info for each FTP and WebDAV site you try to import
or export.
In Dreamweaver CS3, this feature has been changed so that you only get the
Save Login prompt once. The choice you make about whether to save the login
information for your initial site then cascades down to subsequent FTP /
WebDAV sites, so you get much fewer prompts when doing a batch export/import
in DW CS3.

My personal opinion is that the way that Dreamweaver migrates extensions
is not always good. When asked, we generally advise our customers to
fully uninstall all extensions before upgrading Dreamweaver versions.
That said, Adobe claims the process is safe, so you need to make your
own decision about following our advice.

buggy installation. I will follow your advise. I just have to refresh my

Newsgroup_User Apr 16, 2007 7:43 PM (in response to Cindy-)By the way, do you just 'delete' (trash can) the extension in Manage

Newsgroup_User Apr 16, 2007 10:05 PM (in response to Cindy-)Send a mail to our support address and I'll fix you up with the full
updated version so you don't have to worry about running the updater. As
for uninstalling in DW8, you want to do that through the menu in
Extension Manager. Don't just deactivate, use the menu to uninstall the
"package".
