I have been trying to watch a program that I have been able to watch in the recent past and when I try to run it, it tells me to download the latest update of Flash Player. I thought Adobe automatically updated this.  What is wrong with your software?

Do a "Clean Install" to be sure it's up to date.

Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".

Flash Player Uninstaller

Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)

Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.

Reboot your system.

BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove Flash Player.

Next, run the ActiveX Installer.

Once it's installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

THAT's 99% of the problem.

IE11 has wreaked havoc everywhere, because Microsoft screwed something up in the final release code, and all sorts of sites don't recognize it.

Internet Exploder is garbage and I'm not even pretending to be shy about telling people anymore... to just quit using it.

Firefox, Opera, Safari, or even Chrome would be better, although Chrome isn't a whole lot better.

Thank you for this information. I actually tried using Chrome to open the program that I wanted to watch and it did work. thank you for all your time helping me with my problem. Do you know if this version of IE will be updated in future to iron out the problems?

Your guess is as good as mine. If I know the guys is Redmond... (I don't actually know any of them - but I've seen their track record) the first "fix" will only make things worse. Then they'll release one to "undo" it, and third time around, they'll actually get it right. But with just over 10% of the market share for browser use anymore, I'm pretty sure they aren't really concerned with making something that works.
