Win 7 with Captivate 7,

After clicking the Record Additional Slide button, and a slide after which to start, it doesn't display the Recording Options window, or anything.

This only occurs when I have a specific SW App open (that our co. created). AND it worked fine with Captivate 6 since then, but only once. Now neither 6 nor 7 work.

Any ideas?

Hi there,

Is it happeing on a particular project or with a blank new project as well?

Have you tried recreating preferences for Adobe Captivate?

Here are the steps to recreate Preferences:

  • Save your Project.
  • Close Captivate
  • Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData (hidden folder)\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 7 folder
  • Rename the Captivate 7 folder to anything.
  • Launch Captivate.

Then try recording additional slides.

P.S.: Recreating preferences will reset all the customizations and settings of Captivate, but won't affect your projects.

Thanks.

I've tried all these w/o success:

• renaming folder as you suggest

• rebooting

• start a new capture file from the wizard: SW Demo; nothing happens.

Hi there,

If it is Windows 7, could you run Captivate as administrator (Right click on Captivate icon, then run as administrator), and then try to record that application.

Also, if possible, try to run that application that is being recorded as administrator in Windows 7 if it's possible.

Thanks.

Both Captivate and the Target app are run in Admin mode, thanks Varun.

The target app was written in VB 6. Any known issues?
