According to the discussion in your other message thread, NO you may not connect your camera... you must have a Firewire port in your computer

It gets confusing when the same problem is spread across more than one thread, confusing for the person asking the question and confusing for those trying to answer the question.
Yes, as has been said, you need a firewire connection for DV or HDV capture into Premiere Elements Capture Window. See your original thread for more details.
I have never been there and done this, but look into the many online articles on working with computers that do not come with built in firewire port (most no longer have them). These articles discuss the issue, mentioning a possible spare PCI slot for a firewire card.
