    Problem with Wacom tablet

      Hi all

I am sorry I know this isn't strictly speaking a Photoshop issue but I also know that I tend to get answers from this forum rather than some of the others.

I have a Wacom Sapphire CTE-430 graphics tablet and while I can get it to work in relative mode I cant get it to function in absolute mode (I am not sure if those are the correct terms - when I say absolute mode I mean that when I point to the corner of the tablet that the pointer jumps to the corner of the screen. What is happening at the moment is that the pointer is acting like a mouse - IE that if I drag to the edge of the tablet the pointer is not necessarily going to the edge of the screen and I have to lift the pen and re draw).

This is happening on a laptop that I am using and haven't used with this tablet before. When I bought the tablet (a couple of years ago off an auction site) I managed to get it to work on my desktop machine.

When I tried a couple of days ago to get it to work on the laptop I plugged in the tablet and windows installed a default driver which gave me the mouse like operation. I searched on the net for the driver and installed what I thought was the correct driver but nothing changed.

Then I remembered that I think when I installed it on my desktop I was advised to install the Wacom Graphire 3 or 4 driver so I tried that.

What happens now is that I get a message that says that the pen driver ins not working and to re-start and if that doesn't work to re-install the driver.

I have done both of those things and still no joy.

My system is a PC running Windows 7 64 bit home edition.

      And advice gratefully received
