1. Re: Why can't I find the profile for my Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USN in the Lens Correction feature?
Jim Wilde Dec 13, 2013 1:30 PM (in response to lonestarcharles)Are you perhaps using a Jpeg or other rendered file? The majority of Lens Profiles have been created for use on Raw files only, and that's certainly the case with the 16-35mm lens profile.

lonestarcharles Dec 13, 2013 1:39 PM (in response to lonestarcharles)Jim - The images begin as raw but return as tiffs after processing as HDR in Photomax Pro. Am I just out of luck here?

Jim Wilde Dec 13, 2013 2:07 PM (in response to lonestarcharles)What are the ramifications of doing the Lens Corrections on all the raw images before you send them off for the HDR merge?

Bejamine Freedman Aug 15, 2014 3:21 PM (in response to lonestarcharles)So... can SOME lens profiles be used on JPG, and some only on RAW? I seem to have a choice of many other lenses for JPG files, so I'm not sure why the 16-35mm would only be for RAW. Can someone shed some light?
Thanks!
Best,
Ben

Hi,
As with other camera manufacturers Canon applies lens correction data during the in-camera production of the JPG, although not as much as it applies in DPP. Therefore typically it is only required to correct the RAW file.
