Hi Everyone,
I work on projects shot on various Canon DSLR cameras (h264) and GoPros (Protune h264), with an almost completely Adobe workflow although I sometimes go out to Resolve instead of Speedgrade for CC\Grading. I wanted to ask if the idea of transcoding still was worth the extra efforts to a more edit-friendly codec for ease of editing, such as Cineform 4:2:2 or Avid DNxHD 185 8 or 10 bit 4:2:2, was still a good workflow. I usually edit on my main edit machine and a laptop on-the-go (specs below), for reference. All my content is for web release, so no issues with having to stick to a very specific format for delivery like broadcast, but I am looking for the most efficient workflow for best results in quality while maintaining a fast working environment while editing, working in AE with GPU-heavy effects such as FilmConvert, RedGiant tools, etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
