I'm at the appropriate page, http://www.adobe.com/legal/licenses-terms.html#flash_player and I just keep clicking "11" with "pdf" sitting next to it, and nothing is happening, which means I can't honestly check the box, finish my installation and get to work.

edit: I installed IE and was able to view pdf. I think streamlining the process would be a kindness to users of your product. Is there a known conflict between Firefox and elements of Adobe's website/ability to view or download files?

Firefox uses its own Javascript PDF viewer. It's quirky to say the least. Adobe can't do anything about that.

You need to enable the Adobe Reader plugin on Firefox to correctly view PDF documents: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html
