All I want to do is play/associate files with .swf extension.

I have installed:

CS6 v:13.0.1 x32

Adobe Shockwave Player v:12.0.7.148

Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X v:11.9.900.170

I’ve used and dug into:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/authorwareonly.html

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html

http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

Errors include:

- Flash Player installation was not successful.

- NSIS Error: Error writing temporary file. Make sure your temp folder is valid. (resolved, I think)

I’ve exited and closed all AV/MW/utilities and cleaners short of establishing a sandbox

Probably overthinking it

Has to be an easier solution

Thanks for any assistance

To play local SWF files you need the standalone Flash Player (Projector); you can download it from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

Not that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will have to make the .swf file association manually.

you're trying to play swf files that are on you computer (as opposed to swfs opened in a browser)?

if yes, download and install one of the two windows projector players, http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
