On of the many minds in your computer?…
Try a reset of the preferences for Bridge first (often cures the most strange and suddenly occurring problems). Hold down option (Mac) or ctrl (Win) when starting Bridge and from the menu chose reset preferences, then try again.
If no luck provide more details about versions and OS + machine specs.

2. Re: rating problem
robirdman1 Dec 26, 2013 10:15 AM (in response to Omke Oudeman)That was on suggestion that didn't work.
I forgot to mention that when the thumbnail is full screen, after pressing spacebar, I can no longer get anything but the image viewable. No rating, color label or filename that I used to see after pressing a number.
Not only that, but I can't just select a group of thumbnails and press control and a number to give them all a rating or label color. No effect.
This is Bridge 6, Win 7 64 bit. AMD Nimbus, 16G RAM 8 core, LaCie 8T drive
Out of curiosity, I opened Bridge CS5.1 and the situation is the same.

4. Re: rating problem
robirdman1 Dec 26, 2013 12:38 PM (in response to Omke Oudeman)I don't think that is the case, because it is not just that folder. When a folder is read only, then things can't be changed. In this case, I can click a thumb to make 1-5 stars, or open the menu and click to add stars or labels. Nor does it matter with other HDs, All was normal a couple of days ago.
This is totally baffling. I have CS5 on my laptop also. The exact same thing is happening here. I can't get rating or label with key presses, onlby going to the menu.

Omke Oudeman Dec 27, 2013 3:07 AM (in response to robirdman1)It seems I have read only half of your post because you do edit them and I mainly use email for this forum, edits don't arrive via email
However when both CS6 and CS5 have this same behavior it might be your keyboard giving problems. On a mac I would try a different USB slot or a different keyboard for testing, maybe Win has a driver for a keyboard.
But with both apps behave the same and reset prefs does not help everything points to you system hardware or software being not able to sync with Bridge. Did you check if the control key works in PS as expected?
This to eliminate as much as possible before being sure were to focus on to solve the problem.

6. Re: rating problem
robirdman1 Dec 29, 2013 10:28 AM (in response to Omke Oudeman)I called Adobe and they said to uninstall CS6 and reinstall, and the tech would call back in a half hour. When I hung up, I realized I didn't have a disk for it as it was a free upgrade after I got CS5, and if I uninstalled I wouldn't know how to reinstall.
That's when I took a look at my laptop and saw that computer had the same problem. Strange. So I unistalled and reinstalled CS5 there and the problem went away. The tech never called back and I still had the problem on the PC for a couple of days, and then yesterday, the mysterious problem was gone and Bridge was normal again.
Beyone understanding.
