ADOBE FLASH PLAYER

I have windows 8 and the version of flash player is 11.7.0 and I am needing to update to 11.8.0. I have been unable to do so and every time I try, I am sent to the update internet explorer and when I do that, I get a message saying that Adobe flash player has already been updated. I NEED HELP ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shochwave is enabled, ActiveX is disabled so what else do I need to do?

Control Panel>System and Security>Windows Update>Check For Updates

WIndows Update should update the Plugin. If it doesn't, try repairing IE: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378
