Did you have Photoshop or Bridge open? Have you checked Photoshop > Help > About plugins > Camera RAW to see what version you currently have? Have you tried restarting the computer and updating before you do anything else?
I have the 18.104.22.168 installed.
Yes to the other questions
and yes that was the downloaded file and it failed as per initial screen shot.
The error message in the screen shot in your first post means that you have CS6 and have downloaded the CC version of ACR or have CC and downloaded the CS6 version of ACR. There is a distinct version for the old CS6 and the newer CC because the older CS6 doesn’t include the newer CC functionality and is only provided for new camera support.
Maybe download both the CS6 and the CC versions of the installer and see if one of them works. And report which one if one does.
Be sure to log out and back into the CC Manager app, so that it’ll scan and see what you have installed.
If you can’t figure out what is wrong, then maybe uninstall PS, run CS Cleaner, and re-installl.
It was a missing folder in the user/library/ one.
A big thanks to Ashutosh for the patience and the help!
I have exactly the same problem can you tell me wich folder is missing ?
right now I'm not recalling which one precisely, but I'll search a little bit and I hope to come back soon
Ok, take a look a this path on your MAC:
Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory/1.0/PhotoshopCameraRaw8-8.0
After Mavericks update, somehow, this folder wasn't there. I copied it from a timemachine backup and after that the new updates have been detected.
Hopefully it'll be fine for you as well.
