Why do I have 2 shockwave icons on my desktop each leading to their own target on my C drive?

Both targets lead to the same Schockwave new games web page. When I tried deleting one of them, I lost any function off the start button. I installed shockwave on C which is where my win 7 ultimate 64 bit operating system is located. I installed shockwave games on a separate partition E though. Why should deleting those icons or their targets affect my computer in any way?

I wanted to install Shockwave onto the E partition also, but did not get the option when I installed Shockwave?
