John T Smith Jan 3, 2014 9:20 AM (in response to jgammage)I don't use USB for editing, so search http://search.microsoft.com/search.aspx?mkt=en-US&setlang=en-US for a Microsoft article on how to "lock" the drive letter when you unplug/replug a USB drive

Bill Hunt Jan 3, 2014 9:25 AM (in response to jgammage)This Tips & Tricks article might be helpful, when editing to/from external HDD's: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5880839#5880839
It is likely that you have not assigned a fixed drive letter, for that external HDD, in the OS of your computer. That should fix things, when you do.
Good luck,
Hunt
