Jon-M-Spear Jan 2, 2014 1:43 AM (in response to MD Optofonik)How are they configured: Raid; 7,200rpm; free space, etc?

MD Optofonik Jan 2, 2014 2:18 AM (in response to Jon-M-Spear)None are RAID (I was under the impression that a RAID array had to use identical size drives). Just three drives, different sizes, all 7200 RPM, SATA2. Since I would be burning to DVD as soon as I'm finished with no need to keep the finshed video on a drive I thought I might use the smallest drive for export. I'm not sure about the 2TB and 750GB drives although it seems that assigning the 2TB to media and 750GB to cache would make the most sense. Again, I'm not sure, and I'm probably "over trainging" but I thought I would ask before wrapping things up.

Jon-M-Spear Jan 2, 2014 2:39 AM (in response to MD Optofonik)Depending on the type of source material - HD for example, 7,200 non-Raid0 might not be sufficient for clean stutter-free previews.
If you find it's okay, quite honestly, use the least full, it really doesn't matter. Just keep all files, even temp/preview off the system drive.

Steven L. Gotz Jan 2, 2014 10:02 AM (in response to MD Optofonik)i would put cache and preview files on a small one, source material on the big one, and that leaves one small one for your "My Documents" folder.
There are other ways, but the Tweaker's page noted above can walk you through some of them.

MD Optofonik Jan 5, 2014 10:51 AM (in response to MD Optofonik)Thanks eveyone for helping me get sorted. I had to move some things around for my DAW and these are the drives that were left for me to work with in Premier. Clearly not ideal but better than nothing and your advice is much appreciated.
