You cannot add markup to a graphic in any software, including Fireworks.
You can attach markup to a graphic in Dreamweaver or any other HTML
editor.

Maybe Im mis-understanding the overall goal here, but cant you create a Slice and change the type from "Image" to "HTML" and insert the code there?

I read it as anotherpage wanting to add HTML to an image rather than to
a slice.

You can copy and paste just about anything into the built in HTML editor
in FW, but inserting something as complex as the markup for a slide show
is going to produce unpredictable results. That feature is really just
for creating HTML text. Even then, unless you have some pretty
sophisticated knowledhge of the way tables work, you might run into
problems with it.

For example, if you enter more text than can be contained in the table
cell created by the slice, the table will explode. There's also no way
to format the HTML text in Fireworks unless you use inline styles.

Seems to me that if someone has enough knowledge to add inline styles,
they'd probably want to do the markup for the page in an HTML editor,
like Dreamweaver, rather a graphics authoring and editing program.

Ah, but now Fireworks is more, it's a prototyping tool. So something as basic to the web as inline styles should be built in.

For some folks, it's become a show stopper. We'd love this ability! blog discussion
