I have a Mac OS X 10.5.8 which currently has Flash version 10.3 and the latest version of Safari. I am trying desperately to install a newer version because I cannot watch certain websites with my infant, and it is not allowing me. I have tried downloading many versions, most recently Flash 11.9 but when I double click to open the version, it says "The application Adobe Flash (or Adobe Flash Debugger) quit unexpectedly. I try and relaunch, and it continues to deny me. Can someone please help me?
Thank you!

Hi jbtell,
Flash Player 10.3 is the last supported version for OS X 10.5.8. To install a newer version of Flash Player requires upgrading your OS X version.

Maria is right.
If you have a PPC mac, you've reached the end of the road for software updates, and that's not just Flash Player. Fact is PPC Macs are obsolete.
If you have an Intel Mac (Core2 duo) you can upgrade to OS 10.6 and you'll be able to get a few more yeas out of it.

Sorry to be a moron, but what is a "PPC Mac"? I'm pretty sure the Mac I have it an Intel Core 2 Duo (from 2009). I also have a very old PC as well and I just updated my version of flash player and now the videos from the website work? Thanks so much!

Hi jbtell,
You can tell if it's PPC or Intel by clicking the Appel icon in the toolbar and selecting 'About This Mac' which will display the processor type. If it has Intel then you can upgrade the OS and subsequently Flash Player. If it doesn't, then it's PPC and you cannot upgrade the version of Flash Player.

If it's 2009... It's Intel. Apple stopped making PPC Macs in 2005. Stopped selling them in 2006, and stopped supporting them in 2009.
You should look into the Snow Leopard upgrade. It's well worth it.
Bieng a 2009, your Mac can probably take Lion or even Mt. Lion (10.7 or 10.8) but you won't find them for $20.
