1. Re: How can I prevent the Dreamweaver.log file from continually reappearing in my home directory?
Jon Fritz II Jan 9, 2014 7:28 AM (in response to daxmacrog)What do you mean by "home directory"?
Are you attempting to use one of DW's program directories as your local site's root folder?
If so, that definitely should not be done.
Here is a video on how to properly define your local site's root directory...

Maybe I misunderstood your post though.

daxmacrog Jan 9, 2014 7:32 AM (in response to Jon Fritz II)No, my Mac OS home directory, as in /Users/username. Dreamweaver is installed in the standard Applications directory, and the root folders of my sites are stored elsewhere.

Jon Fritz II Jan 10, 2014 12:59 PM (in response to smallobjects)If your server is set up correctly, it won't make a difference.
You really should start a new thread in the forum when you have a question that has nothing to do with the thread you are posting in.

daxmacrog Jun 19, 2014 12:51 PM (in response to subhadeep_banerjee)Thanks, subhadeep_banerjee. This was always a minor thing and I'm glad it has been fixed in the new version, although I've been surprised by the number of bug fixes that are only available by installing CC 2014 and uninstalling CC. I thought the point of CC was that updates would come more frequently without having to wait a year for a major release.
My settings did not transfer over from CC. So upgrading was a serious hassle. Now I see no difference between the CC release cycle and the CS release cycle other than that once I stop paying, I can no longer use any version of the software, old or new.

9. Re: How can I prevent the Dreamweaver.log file from continually reappearing in my home directory?
Nancy O. Jun 19, 2014 2:35 PM (in response to daxmacrog)I think it's important to understand the differences between the various versions.
1) The first cloud offering was DW CS6 (ver 12). It received several updates.
2) Last year DW CC (ver 13) came out. It too received several updates.
3) This month Adobe launched a new version called CC2014 (ver 14). It will no doubt receive updates throughout the year.
AFAIK, subscribers can have all 3 versions installed along side each other if desired.
Creative Suite's upgrade cycle was 18-24 months. Creative Cloud appears to be rolling out new versions every 12 months.
