1. Re: Brushes panel causes graphics driver to fail to load
Curt Y Jan 9, 2014 2:45 PM (in response to Dr Missile)That card should have enough power to work well. Go to the Nvidia site and make sure you have latest driver.

2. Re: Brushes panel causes graphics driver to fail to load
Dr Missile Jan 9, 2014 3:05 PM (in response to Curt Y)Drivers are latest . Without the brushes panel open everything works normally which makes me feel it's not a driver issue. My prefernce is of course that I would be able to have both the brushes panel open on load and openGL acceleration.

3. Re: Brushes panel causes graphics driver to fail to load
Chris Cox Jan 9, 2014 3:10 PM (in response to Dr Missile)It is a driver issue, otherwise the driver wouldn't have problems like that.
Also, if it were a Photoshop issue, millions of people would see the same failure.
So it sounds like you need to contact NVidia to figure out what is wrong with your drivers or video card.

4. Re: Brushes panel causes graphics driver to fail to load
Dr Missile Jan 9, 2014 3:59 PM (in response to Chris Cox)I think maybe the subject of my thread is poorly worded. My graphics driver is fine in all cases. The only problem I'm having is that openGL acceleration, within Photoshop alone, fails to load if the brushes panel is visible when Photoshop starts up. I don't see how this could possibly be the fault of the driver. But what do I know?
I have zero other graphics driver issues whatsoever on my system and it befuddles me that Nvidia would be responsible for an edge-case issue that occurs within your software and your software alone.
It would be awesome if Adobe staff just thanked me for reporting the bug and looked into it rather than point a finger.

5. Re: Brushes panel causes graphics driver to fail to load
Curt Y Jan 9, 2014 5:40 PM (in response to Dr Missile)OpenGL is the sole duty of the gpu. PS stress is the card differently than other programs. If you feel it is not the gpu driver then it would be a brush. If you have any 3rd party fonts disable them and see it that solves problem.
P.S. Latest drivers from anywhere but Nvidia are not the latest.

6. Re: Brushes panel causes graphics driver to fail to load
Chris Cox Jan 9, 2014 7:21 PM (in response to Dr Missile)The problem is the driver, and Photoshop disabled OpenGL because of problems IN the driver.
AGain, you really need to talk to NVidia to figure out what is wrong with your card or driver.
And yes, NVidia is responsible for having their driver work correctly and not return errors when it should be working.
You haven't reported a bug in Photoshop, but a bug in your NVidia driver software, or a problem with your video card.
