flash download not working

I have downloaded flash 4 times on my computer.  Once the download is complete I will go back to the training video I am trying to watch and it says "flash out-of-date."

Do a complete "clean install" per the instructions here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1343084  I did those on my Lion machine, but the steps are the same in Mt. Lion or Mavericks.
