Flash Player 12 install problems - Opera 12 & FF26

Latest Flash Player (12.0.0.43), Win 8.1 x64 Pro

- With Opera 12.16, the McAfee box wouldn't say unchecked.

- With FF26, the install hung at second step.

- With Opera webkit version (19 Next), the install process falsely says Google Chrome installed (thankfully it's not)

Me? I never use the downloader/installer or the webpage to update:

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.

Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)

Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

NOTHING bundled with those and they install offline.

I was just reporting.  Thanks for the link.  The IE one is pre-10, isn't it?

There are all sorts of external factors that can impede or "weird out" downloading from the Adobe downloads page.

Adblockers, antivirus, firewall, javascript, etc.

Those links are the latest build for each. Bookmark them. When the plugins are updated on the server, the link remains the same.

I know about the non-IE link, but but don't IE 10 and 11 do their own flash player updating?

ONLY on Windows 8 machines. I have IE11 on my Win 7 machine and it updates like 10 and 9 did.

In your case, with 8.1 there's a KB Patch file that prevents installing FP from a download.
