Adobe Connect is great. But there is a BIG shortcoming -- Whiteboard overlay on Shared Desktop, Window or Application is NOT possible. You have to use Pause and Annotate. Other solutions like Gotomeeting (desktop) or Yugma (web-based) can do this.

We have purchased Adobe Connect, but now our users do not want to use it because of the lack of Whiteboard Overlay on Shared Desktop.

Is Whiteboard Overlay on Shared Desktop in the roadmap? Thank you.

SORRY wrong forum but there is no Delete button for me to delete this post.

Sounds nice, but I can't think of any example where this feature would be usefull. Can you please give an example..

Thx,

hi John

In GotoMeeting or Yugma, when a user shares his desktop (or window or application) and he is referring to something on this desktop, he can easily annotate and draw over the shared desktop WITHOUT having to stop the sharing.

In AdobeConnect, he has to stop the sharing and then do the annotation (Pause and Annotate), and when he resumes the sharing, the annotation is gone. Having to Pause and Annotate slows down a meeting by quite a bit.

I really hope Adobe will work on providing Whiteboard Overlay on shared desktop. If Adobe Connect could do this, it would be the best product in the market.

What would be in the desktop that would need marking-up, icons?

Hi Sean

It can be anything. An open document, a program, a picture, etc., etc.
The presenter wants to circle something or annotate on something on the desktop or application or picture or document, etc., which he is talking about.
It could be a share application, window or desktop.
This is called collaboration.
Thanks
