Install on MAC OS 10.9.1

When I attempt to install, I receive a message telling me to close my dashboard client first. How do I do that, and just as important, how do I reopen it after installation is complete?

Mac HD/Applications/Utilities. Open Activity Monitor.

In Activity Monitor, click the "Process Name" heading to sort alphabetically, and scroll to Dashboard in the list.

Click the Dashboard items one at a time, and clikc the octagonal icon to force the process to quit.

To restart the processes, reboot.
