Having problems again with this new update, very similar to previous discusion with 12.0.0.38 (http://forums.adobe.com/message/6085819)
The issue appears to be the SCUP rule is looking for HKLM\Software\Macromedia\FlashPlayer\Safeversions\12.0 >='44'
But when I deploy the update to a test machine this registry entry is not created and in fact even though I am on 12.0.0.38 already this value does not exist at all in that version either. Therefore SCCM/SCUP tells me the install failed, even though I can see it is present if I go to a flash-enabled website in IE to test.
This is though: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayerActiveX\Version but it is equal to 12,0,0,44 (not periods??? comma's?)
This is being reported as a very urgent update to deploy. Hopefully this thread will get someone's attention and this will be rectified. I would attempt to alter the installable and installed rules but since the registry version value has comma's in it I am not certain as to the best way to do that.
Thank you
I'm sorry for the mixup. We're correcting this now and will be uploading a fixed catalog in a few minutes.
Thanks,
Chris

I'm not sure what the etiquitte is for "me too" on this forum, but this does seem like a replay of 12.0.0.38. Perhaps we could use rules modified from the corrected 12.0.0.38 to work for 12.0.0.44. More information here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6013011
I exported the rules set in the revised 12.0.0.38 catalog, changed the 38s to 44s, imported the new rules to apply to the 12.0.0.44 update, and now things seem to be detecting correctly. The registry key check that the revised 12.0.0.38 update uses is "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia\FlashPlayerActiveX\Version" = "12.0.0.44". This key value uses periods, not commas.

I have a problem with 12.0.0.44 on Mac 10.8.5 I am no expert but it seems to just not play anything and keeps getting messages "Flash Player Is Out Of Date".

Hi Chris - thank you for the quick reponse and fix. I have downloaded the updated catalog and am trying it now and no longer see the failed install situation.
Thanks,
Bruce
