Error: General installation error

I've been trying to install the Flash Player Installer all morning and I keep getting the same general installation error message every time I get to the 50% mark on the bar-- never at 49% and never at 51%. I uninstalled my rearlier version of the Flash player and suddenly I was able to watch videos again-- but just for a few minutes. After that I was back to the message that I didn't have a current flash player. Now I'm getting intermittent use, followed by intermittent inability to watch the same videos on my blog.
