I can't sucsesfully install Flash

Im trying to simply install flash player on my new imac, but every time I try, Im seemingly only able to download the installer.  Ill double click on the installer, follow all the simple directions, watch as it "installs" and am then congratulated by a screen that says I have sucsesfully installed Flash on my computer.  When I check my computer, the Flash application is no where to be found.  This shouldnt be difficult, but Im lost.  Can anyone help?
