I have spent 90 minutes on this.
First Adobe disables its previous Flash player in Safari and Firefox.
Then it releases an installer that apparently requires hacker-level expertise
to trick into installing.
I have read Adobe's instructions (Flash Player Help) and tried most of the tips suggested in this forum.
My computer and OS are compatible.
I deinstalled Flash 11 and downloaded the latest version 12.0.0.44.
Safari Allow Other Plugins is enabled.
Firefox Network cache is 50 Mb
I followed Mike M's instructions on How to Perform a Clean Install.
Neither the Safari nor the Firefox install works. Hangs at 95% like other users have reported.
I can install other apps no problem so it is not Intego Virus Barrier's fault.
Thanks.

OK. I found a fix for OSX. This is a different Mike M clean install text.

Use the "Manual Install" mode. Control-click on Install Adobe Flash Player.app
"In the Contents/Resources folder, you’ll find a file named Adobe Flash Player.pkg. Double click it"
That worked.
Can't Adobe fix this at the factory?
Thanks Mike M!
