1. Re: Do you need to use Google Analytics or does BC offer basically the same thing with reports?
Gaurav Sharma Feb 11, 2014 1:13 AM (in response to RussCompton)Hi,
You can easily add Google Analytics, which you can get directly from Google APIs, to any Adobe hosted site and get the rich reporting features that it provides. The system also provides a built-in advanced reporting system with every site, which you can use without any extra configuration.
Hre are some useful Links which will help to understand BC report system

Hope this helps.

barringtondesign Feb 11, 2014 2:41 PM (in response to RussCompton)For a lot of my small business clients the BC reporting tools are enough as a nice overhead view. However, I do install Google Analytics for all clients. If your clients derive business or leads directly from the site then I'd say Google Analytics is a must. If you look at the Muse exchange at muse.adobe.com you'll see a free library item for google analytics. makes it super easy to add to a template (one you have you google account set-up) especially if you are unfamiliar with html mark-up.

RussCompton Feb 12, 2014 1:40 PM (in response to barringtondesign)Thank you for that informative answer! I am not too familar with Google Analytics and I went there to create an account, the only question I have is do you create a new analytics account for each website that you want to track?

barringtondesign Feb 12, 2014 1:57 PM (in response to RussCompton)Short answer. Yes.
You can look up a lot of best practices for analytics accounts to find what works for you. Biggest reason is to keep client data separate.
Many times we'll set up the initial email address for the client ex: (company name)Analytics@gmail.com
That way we have an account that can be handed off if need be or that we can manage.

6. Re: Do you need to use Google Analytics or does BC offer basically the same thing with reports?
Gaurav Sharma Feb 13, 2014 2:15 AM (in response to RussCompton)Hi,
Google Analytics supports lots of sites in a single account. It also supports multiple accounts and even sharing the analytics data for a specific account (or site) with others who nonetheless don’t have access to your other analytic data.
Try this link as your start point of learning Google Analytics, and proceed one by one,

This should be useful.
