1. Re: Why is my jpeg logo jagged when importing to CS6?
Bill Hunt Feb 14, 2014 9:13 AM (in response to 1mikediaz)Mike,
- Is your logo JPEG being Scaled, either up, or down?
- Do you happen to have that logo in a Vector Art file?
- If so, can you use Photoshop to Scale it, and Rasterize it, say from an AI file, then Save_As PNG, or PSD, in lieu of the JPEG version?
Good luck,
Hunt

1mikediaz Feb 14, 2014 9:28 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Hi Bill,
My designer actually did send me an ai.file and a png file but by CS6 cant import it for some reason. I'm not sure if the jpeg was scaled up or down, I only know that I have differents sizes of the logo if that matters. Any further pointers would be of great help.

Picture must be RGB not CMYK (CYMK?) http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1081681

Ann Bens Feb 14, 2014 11:35 AM (in response to 1mikediaz)Premiere does import AI files, are you saying you cannot import the file or just the png?

SAFEHARBOR11 Feb 14, 2014 1:32 PM (in response to Ann Bens)Hi Mike,
Ideally, make the still image the same size as the video frame, so no scaling is taking place.
1920x1080, or 1280x720, or 720x480 according to the sequence setting being used.
Thanks

1mikediaz Feb 14, 2014 1:55 PM (in response to SAFEHARBOR11)Thank you all for your responses. My designer sent me ai and png files for my logo and Premiere does not import them. I selected each file individually while trying to import them separately and no go. Thank you Ann and Jeff, I just exported the movie with the logo sized as it came and I will see if it renders smooth. If not I will re export it after I photoshop it to the movie frame size. Again, I owe you guys so much for all your tips and guidance.

7. Re: Why is my jpeg logo jagged when importing to CS6?
Bill Hunt Feb 15, 2014 9:41 AM (in response to 1mikediaz)Mike,
For the Still Image formats, used in Video, here are considerations:
Color Mode = RGB (as mentioned above)
Color Depth = 8-Bit
Depending on what the graphics designer was producing the files for, they could well be CMYK, and perhaps 16-Bit Color Depth. Check those aspects out, and you can easily use Ps to change those attributes.
Good luck,
Hunt

JSS1138 Feb 15, 2014 9:44 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)PP has no problem with 16 bit color images, only with CMYK.
