JSS1138 Feb 15, 2014 10:25 AM (in response to flbreen)It won't do much good to put the Program Monitor on the second screen. Doing so, you still have the software, the OS and the graphics driver handling and possibly interfering with the video signal. You need to set things up in such a way that Windows and the GPU have no idea that second monitor is there, so that when PP, After Effects or some other Adobe program isn't sending out a video signal to it, all you see is black.
I don't know if that's possible using just a graphics card.

flbreen Feb 17, 2014 8:40 AM (in response to JSS1138)I still have the problem and it is a show stopper.
The problem is that everything is set up and working well.
The program monitor is on the upper screen connected by an HDMI cable and the lower (main) screen has the PP editing workspace connected to a DVI cable.
After a while of editing the Program Monitor takes over both screens and I cannot get if off of the main screen which is Adobe Monitor 1 in the PP Playback menu and Display #2 on the Control panel.
My solution is to unplug the HMDI cable and go back to 1 monitor.

R Neil Haugen Feb 17, 2014 3:24 PM (in response to JSS1138)Jim,
Probably would be helpful if you could quickly list how to set-up so that as you suggest, "when PP, After Effects or some other Adobe program isn't sending out a video signal to it, all you see is black.", can be accomplished in the way you do this. I've read through the tweakers page ... but if you could put it in short direct language, I think some here would get a much better idea of their "optimal" set-up.
