I have a Word doc that I inherited, did some editing on it, replaced some images, and imported to Robohelp HTML.
When I generate the project most of my images do not display.
Oddly, some do, and I can't seem to find a reason why or why not.

I replaced some images in the source WORD doc via a paste from the clipboard. I probably also replaced some images in RoboHelp - also via a paste from the clipboard.

But - there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to which ones display (though I'm sure that's not true - I just don't know the reason).

Some images that do show are ones that I inserted (into the source doc - probably, but maybe into Robohelp) and some were in the doc when I inherited it.

I looked at the TrueCode, and all the references look the same: <img src="image014.jpg"....

But the directories on my local machine seem to have all the image files, while the ones on the file share where I generate has just the subset.

I'm hesitant to play with it alot, because when I generate my TOC pretty much goes away (only has the first book ) and rebuilding it is a major hassle.

But that's another problem - think I'll go post that separately.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Oh - one more thing. If I right-click on an image or on a non-image in the generated version and select Properties, the file reference includes a path to my local machine.

Gail

I have probably passted some fromthe clipboard directly into Robohelp (again - pasting from ther clipboard).
I can't say that those are in and the others aren't though - because some of the ones that do appear are images that were in the Word doc when I inherited it.

If the path is absolute this is the reason why the images are not diplayed in the help. Change the path to a relative one and see what happens.

If you double click on an image in the RH topic, what shows as the path there? Is it the same path as in the output? Something like C:\Image1.jpg won't work if the output is in a different location. Typically when you add an image in RH, it is copied into the project directory and therefore is visible when the output is generated (i.e. it has a relative path). By cutting & pasting from your PC clipboard, the path created in Robohelp has got confused - not in the project directory. It would be better if you had saved the images to a directory and then added them. You may have to capture the images again and reload them. Let us know how you get on.

When I double click on an image in WYSIWYG, the image name is something like: image014.jpg, and it says 'Images in Project Folders:' with something like 'Data Display Files' in the drop down box.

There are many images in there - some that got copied to the publish site, and some not.

I'm hoping to find out how to get them all published - hoping that I'm not going to have to re-insert all of them. Am I dreaming?

OK now we are getting somewhere. If the images are located in the Data Display Files folder in your project then the path to them - in the image Name field should be Data Display Files\image014.jpg. Try adding the path and report back.
