Insufficient Permissions when Installing Flash Player on Win 7.

Disabled anti-virus.

I downloaded the latest install file.  Ran it and got Insufficient permissions at around 53%.  Checked and I am the admin (only account on laptop).

Did an uninstall and ran install from Adobe website.  Same.

Did an uninstall, downloaded file and "ran as administrator".  Same.

Any suggestions on how to get this to install?

i did as the link said, twice.  Each time it gets to around 60% install and then i get the "The user does not have sufficient privileges to install Adobe Flash Player".  The second time I right clicked on the file and ran as administrator.  There is a green check mark by the progress bar of the install status but when I do the check for Flash, the box is empty.  Error message is below progress bar.

Can you post the contents of the FlashInstall.log file in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash

If you are on a 64-bit system, please post also the contents of the file in C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash

Did you also delete activex.vch during the clean install?  It is that file the installer cannot delete/replace.

Sorry, I've been on the road.  I didn't delete activex.vch manually and the installer didn't tell me which file it couldn't install.  I will do another uninstall tonight and make sure this file is gone.  Then I will do another install.  Appreciate your help on this.  3 computers and this is the only one I can't get Flash installed on.

I checked for the activex.vch file and it was gone from both 32 and 64.  I did another uninstall, checked for all files, then ran the install from the Adobe website.  Same issue.   I did another uninstall, checked that all files were gone, disabled anti virus software, and then ran the install from the install file that I downloaded from Adobe.  Same issue again.  Here are the latest logs:

The problem is still activex.vch in syswow64.

Can you run the uninstall again, then delete the entire Flash folder in syswow64\Macromed.

I'm having this same issue trying to install Adobe on a friend's computer. I'm trying to do right now what Pat suggested.
