Abhijit Kr. Feb 23, 2014 12:25 PM (in response to Highshots)Hi HighShots,
Encore was available till CS6 so if you are a Creative suite 6 user then please check whether Premiere pro is working or not. If it is not then activate Premiere Pro and that should fix the issue.
regards,
Abhijit

johnnieg Feb 27, 2014 9:28 AM (in response to Highshots)I had to open Premiere Pro CS6 which prompted me to 'License' or 'Run Trial', clicked License and signed in with my Adobe CC membership ID. That took care of it and Encore runs fine now.

Interesting. That should not be necessary (according to what has been said previously), If following the regular instructions for installing EN with CC, you would uninstall PR CS6 and not have that option. Thanks for mentioning the option.

rexomus Mar 12, 2014 6:24 AM (in response to Highshots)After several attempts and having to contact adobe tech at the right time: 5am-7pm PST (I am on the US east coast);I finally got a hold of a adobe tech via live chat. He un-installed/re-installed and so far Encore has been working for the past few days.

rexomus Mar 16, 2014 10:26 AM (in response to RyanWM)Ryan,
An Adobe tech helped me resolve this issue. Please follow these steps:
The tech had me open Pre Pro CC and go to "help" and click "sign-out". When you do that a pop-up appears saying that: signing out will deactivate the following software on this computer unless you sign in again; following with the icon for each Adobe CC app i have installed.
Next the tech had me open Pre Pro CS6, which upon opening askes you to sign in which I did. Once Pre Pro CS6 was open, The tech had me check under "help" to see if the the option "deactivate" was available or greyed out. For me, It was greyed out.
Next the tech had me close Pre Pro CS6 and open it again and check "help" to see if deactivate was still greyed out; and it was still greyed out.
Next the tech had me close Pre Pro CS6 and open Pre Pro CC which prompts you to sign in. After Pre Pro CC launched the tech had me close it and open Pre Pro CS6 again too check under the "help" tab again and confirm if "deactivate" was still greyed out or black (executable). This time "deactivate" was black.
Next the tech had me launch Encore CS6 tto see if it still required a serial number. This time Ecore opened as it should, without requiring a serial number.
Hopefully this stick, or Adobe includes a perminant solution in the next update.
I Hope this helps others with this same issue.

NHerman Mar 19, 2014 12:43 PM (in response to Highshots)I had a tech expert tell me this was a user issue. I disagree condering that everyone here has also had the same issues. When I first became a Creative Cloud subscriber, I installed Premiere Pro CS6 so that I would be able to use Encore CS6 on my computer. I later uninstalled just Premiere Pro CS6 because I felt like I didn't need another Premiere application in addition to Premiere Pro CC. Encore CS6 has worked this way without problems for the past 7 months, but now only just recently this issue comes up? I believe it's some sort of application error. I also think that uninstalling/reinstalling should not be a permanent fix to this error.
Maybe I haven't found the answer to my next question, but why doesn't Adobe just make Encore available to download by itself in Creative Cloud download center? It's ridiculous enough that I had to go around loopholes just to find Adobe Encore. I expect more out of Adobe with Encore. I believe Encore has been far too long put off for it's own Creative Cloud version.

This is a user to user forum (with "some" Adobe participation) so nobody here knows why Adobe does something

Never going to happen... Adobe CAN'T sell a version after CS6

That's sad to hear. I guess my feedback for Adobe Encore will fall on silent ears. Do you know if there is there an actual press release from Adobe for this? This is the first time I've heard about it.

I understand what your saying. I am just a little frustrated that I have to deal with an issue like this. What I said was meant really as a statement, but sadly text does not always convey one's connotation.
