Although I have followed all the posted troubleshooting tips on Adobe's website, Flash player does not seem to work.  I cannot open videos in websites such as Bing, Steam, etc.  When the videos are linked from another website (i.e. Bing previewing videos from Youtube), the video usually works on the original website (Youtube) but not in Bing, etc.  Sound does play but there is just a blank screen for video.  I have tried reinstalling Flash, which seems to work until the last step which never shows the verification step.

When I go to: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

I get the message "Congratulations, your computer has the latest Flash Player installed."

It identifies that I am running Flash version 12.0.0.70 on Internet Explorer and Windows 7.

My machine runs Windows 7 Home Premium with an Intel Core i7-2670QM and 8 gb of RAM.  I use Internet Explorer version 11 with automatic updates.  My antivirus is Norton 360, also updated.

I do not have Active-X filtering turned on and all Adobe product add ons are enabled in Internet Explorer.

Under Flash Player Settings Manager in the "Advanced Tab", it identifies Active X version 12.0.0.70, but it does say "Plug-in version: Not installed"

IE 11.... There's your problem... It's time people wake up and realize that "just because it comes with Windows" IE is NOT the best choice for a browser and it ISN'T the ONLY one you can use.

Most of the problems you're seeing come from the abomination Microsoft calls a browser---Internet Exploder 11.

IE has always been the problem child of browsers, but 11 has got to be the biggest pile of grabage to come out of Redmond, WA since Vista. They rewrote the "User-Agent Strings", which websites use to identify the browswer and provide the proper content for it, like ActiveX specific things. Some sites now ID it as Gecko (Firefox) while others ID it as Webkit (Chrome or Safari). Problem is, that when the content is adjusted for those User-Agent Strings, it REQUIRES the appropriate browser engine, which IE doesn't have. EVERYTHING falls apart after that.

So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.

Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.

I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.

Firefox (from Mozilla)

Opera (from Opera)

Safari (from Apple)

Chrome (from Google)

ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.
