Error 1226 1062 when installing 12.0.0.70

Hello,

I have been playing with installing Flash Player 12.0.0.70 via group policy. I was upgrading from 11.8.800.94 to 12.0.0.70.

The upgrade seems to have worked ok, I am able use flash player and when I verify the install it congratuates me that I have the latest version.

When I check all of the files they are all the right version.

However when I check the flashinstall.log it states the following error - 2014-3-4+15-22-11.12 [error] 1226 1062

Is this something I should be worried about?

The PC is Windows 7 32Bit, Internet Explorer 9.

It seems that the installer was unable to replace C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl and C:\WINDOWS\system32\FlashPlayerApp.exe with their newest versions.

A clean install (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315) should fix that.

Thanks for replying, much appreciated.

I did check those files and they have upgraded, they are the correct version and in case of FlashPlayerApp.exe do work.

Is the 183 code an indicator of failure?

As the files seem to have upgraded and do work, should I be concerned?

Since all it working, maybe you should leave it at that. But most likely the same issue will come back with the next update.

It would be worthwhile to once perform a clean install, and see if the issue disappears.

Hi Pat,

We performed a clean installed as directed in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315 and we still got the same 183 errors.

As it's working I'll probably go with it, we will be updating quite a few PCs so will tread carefully initially.
