John K. Shaw Feb 20, 2014 10:06 AM (in response to John K. Shaw)Adobe Technical support seems to have solved the problem. Removed a cache.db file, and all seems OK.

Hope you can help.
I'm having the same issue - could you give me more info about how you removed the cache.db file. Where it is located etc. etc.
Any help/info would be much appreciated
I am running Windows 7 Pro.
Many thanks

John K. Shaw Mar 7, 2014 3:38 PM (in response to 2geedesign)In Windows 7: Make sure you have all hidden files showing (checkbox in folder view in Control Panel), and that all Adobe programs are closed. C:\program files (x86)\common files\Adobe PDC\cache\cache db. Delete cache.db, it will rebuild the next time you open Photoshop CC. This worked for me (at least so far so good). And, for what it's worth, I'm only updating from within Photoshop, and not using the desktop CC program.

2geedesign Mar 8, 2014 4:04 AM (in response to John K. Shaw)Hi John
Many thanks for taking the trouble to respond. I've followed your instructions and so far so good - although the issue didn't happen every time I used PS so I guess time will tell.
A couple of questions if you have time.
Do you delete the cache.db file every time before you begin to use PS or did you do it just the once and everything has worked ok since?
Secondly, when you say you only update from within PS what do you mean? I'm afaid I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to computers - wrongly it seems I assume they will always do what they are supposed to do!
Thanks again for your help

7. Re: Photoshop CC keeps telling me I have the trial version
John K. Shaw Mar 8, 2014 1:50 PM (in response to 2geedesign)So far I've only had to delele the cache.db file once. As to updating PC, with PS open do Help > Updates. (Rather than opening the desktop CC program and updating from it.)
