Adobe Flash Play won't install update!!!!!

In the past I have used Adobe Flash Player with not problem on my MacBook Air using OX 10.7.5, but recently, various Websites tell me I must update my version, but when I try to update I get this...

Adobe Flash Player could not be installed.

I have tried all your suggested fixes and nothing works. Why?  I simply don't know what to do!!!!!!!

Download the FULL offline installer: Flash Player 12.0.0.77 Plug-in (Mac OS X)

Save it (right click or Ctrl+click - Download Linked File as) and quit Safari

Double click the download and "Mount the DMG"

DO NOT RUN the installer from the open window.

Right click or Ctrl+click and "Show Package Contents"

In Contents/Resources double click the Adobe Flash Player.pkg

A "COCOA" installer will open.

Follow the instructions to install from there.
