1. Re: Can Encore CS6 process chapter markers from Pr CC using MPEG2-DVD?
John T Smith Aug 23, 2013 8:50 PM (in response to flbreen)I don't have CC, but I do have some links discussing using Encore CS6 with PPro CC... which MAY have more information
-a workaround for the Cloud http://blogs.adobe.com/davtechtable/
-also http://helpx.adobe.com/encore/kb/encore-cs6-installed-cc.html

Neil Wilkes Aug 25, 2013 6:47 AM (in response to flbreen)WHat form is the "Mpeg-2 DVD" file in please?
Is it one file containing both audio & video, or separated elementary streams containing an .m2v file & a .wav file?
If the former (as I suspect) then you have created a program stream (usually .mpg) which is a bad idea - always feed Encore (and any DVD authoring tool, for that matter) with elementary streams for the best results.

3. Re: Can Encore CS6 process chapter markers from Pr CC using MPEG2-DVD?
flbreen Aug 25, 2013 9:33 AM (in response to Neil Wilkes)There is only form of the MPEG-2 DVD that I know of from Pr and it produces 3 files and one of them contains chapter data. En writes the video file converts and writes the audio file, and it uses the xml file to specify the chapter markers set in Pr. One advantage to using this export form is that it is easier to set and anotate the chapter markers in Pr than En and there is a better choice of bitrate settings etc. in Pr than En. And why convert the video to some other format, for example, mp4, to then have En convert to to MPEG2.

4. Re: Can Encore CS6 process chapter markers from Pr CC using MPEG2-DVD?
Ann Bens Aug 25, 2013 3:48 PM (in response to flbreen)Dont import your mpeg2/dvd files as a timeline but as an asset.
Then make a timeline and drop the m2v and wav or ac3 on to that.
Your chapter markers will show up.

Fascinating. That was not an issue in the past; either method would work.
I see now Ann, in a different thread, you noted that dragging an asset to a menu did not work (this creates a timeine), whereas draggin an asset to a timeline did.
I can't image what change in CC would produce this difference, but the workaround will be welcome news.

7. Re: Can Encore CS6 process chapter markers from Pr CC using MPEG2-DVD?
Stan Jones Mar 12, 2014 5:49 PM (in response to Dogminder)What specific versions of PR and EN? Is this a consistent problem? (i.e. all timelines have the same issue?)
If you create a 30 second test sequence with 2 chapter markers (in addition to the one automatically created at the beginning), does it show the problem?
If so, can you upload the m2v, xmpses, and xmp files?

Dogminder Mar 13, 2014 12:31 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Hi Stan,
I'm using Premiere Pro CC and ncore CS5.1.
I tried a test sequence and it still doesn't carry the markers across.
Not sure what you mean by uploading the m2v, xmpses, and xmp files, These files don't seem to show up when I import stuff into Encore.

9. Re: Can Encore CS6 process chapter markers from Pr CC using MPEG2-DVD?
flbreen Mar 13, 2014 6:15 AM (in response to Dogminder)I am not in a position to test this right now but I am hoping that something has changed. Adobe decided that it did not need a new version of Encore to go with it new version of Premiere Pro because producers do not need DVDs anymore. Every wedding videographer needs to produce DVDs and that has to be a larget part of Adobe's business.

10. Re: Can Encore CS6 process chapter markers from Pr CC using MPEG2-DVD?
Dogminder Mar 13, 2014 10:44 AM (in response to flbreen)Can't understand it.
All the tutorials say the chapter points should appear in the Encore timeline exactly as they were created in Premiere Pro CC.
BUT THEY DON'T!
HELP!

11. Re: Can Encore CS6 process chapter markers from Pr CC using MPEG2-DVD?
SAFEHARBOR11 Mar 13, 2014 11:49 AM (in response to Dogminder)The issue I'm seeing is this - with Premiere CS6, there were TWO kinds of markers, the regular timeline markers, and the DVD Chapter markers, which looked like little discs. Not seeing any option to add DVD marks in Premiere CC. The regular "markers" in Premiere are not what we need. Still using CS6 at home, but checking Premiere CC at work here, that's what I'm seeing.

Open the Sequence Marker by double clicking on it. Here you can change the type to a Chapter Marker.
And while it's not set by default, there is a shortcut to add a Chapter Marker directly.
Also, Encore CS6 does import PP CC chapter markers just fine on both my systems, no matter how you import. (All chapters are named in PP.)
