KeithGoldstein Mar 14, 2014 1:10 PM (in response to Jeff Bellune)What about the database files? With the database file stored on the internal drive, will the project know where to find the media cache files once the project is switched to a different computer?
Adobe support told me to move the database file to the external drive, but I think that will get more confusing. When we swtich drives, the computer will not see the database file, as that drive is no longer connected, and then default back to the internal drive, correct? Or does the project file itself know where the cache and database file are stored (being on that same drive)?

3. Re: Advice on a workflow for two computers sharing drives
Jeff Bellune Mar 14, 2014 7:37 PM (in response to KeithGoldstein)I routinely move projects between my desktop and laptop. The media cache database location is the same on both computers, but I don't keep the database files synced between them. I haven't lost preview file or cache file references in a project yet, so empirically it seems that the database adjusts to the physical files and project references, not vice-versa.
Anyway, see if it works for you. That's the only thing that matters.
Cheers,
Jeff
