Thank you, Mike!  This is the error message after it tried to install:

                     100%

[red triangle with exclamation point] This installation failed.

Do you, Mike, or anyone else know how to fix this?  It is a three-year old iMac, with 16GB of RAM, a ton of space free on the HD, and on which everything (including prior versions of Flash) install and run perfectly.  It is running Mavericks.  I have NOT yet had a chance to reboot the system.  Any idea how to get Flash v. 12.0.0.77 to install?

Download the FULL Installer: Flash Player 12.0.0.77 (Mac OS X)

Save the file, quit your browser and mount the DMG.

DO NOT RUN the installer.

Right click and choose "Show Package Contents"

Then in Contents/Resources, double click the Adobe Flash Player.pkg

and run the COCOA installer

Hi Mike.

I tried your suggetsion, but I got an error message again (please see below).

However, I then tried (A) rebooting and (B) installing from a downloaded .DMG, and that combination solved the problem (i.e., Flash installed just fine).

Thank you for your time and efforts.  Very much appreciated!

Best regards,

Evan
